I was sick today, so I didn't go to school. At first, it was OK spending the day in bed, but then it got boring. I wrote a letter to Jacob this afternoon. It was four pages long! I also sent him a map I've made of where I'm going on my scout camping trip. I wonder how the volleyball game went at school. I really wanted to play. Lots of kids were away sick yesterday, so the volleyball game was postponed till Friday. I was late for school today because I couldn't find my note for Miss Martin. I looked through my bag about ten times. Now I have to write another one for Mum to sign. Miss Martin knows that I was sick, though, because I'm still coughing (so is half the class!).

We won our volleyball game today. I did a great spike right near the end. I was a hero! This afternoon, Miss Martin caught me passing a note [click here] to Michael. She gets really angry, especially when we do it during reading time, but we were talking about the volleyball game. Today I made some invitations for my birthday. I'm going to have a pizza and movie party. I spent most of the afternoon on the computer. I got an email with a list of all the things we need to take on the scout camping trip next weekend. It's so long, I sent an email [click here] back to make sure we really need all the stuff - I mean, six pairs of socks??

Our trip is awesome so far. We're camping right near some mountains, and today we walked up a mountain track. I sent Grandma and Grandad a postcard [click here]. It shows where we're staying. I know Grandad would love to go fishing in the river. I'll have to ask him to bring me back sometime. illustration of me hiking up the mountains, the place where we're staying and the fish in the river
